I have lived in Gold Beach for 8 years. In my opinion it would be difficult to live anywhere in the world with better climate. Sure, it rains alot, but in between the rain we have great sunshine. We have about 2 stretches of 10 days or more of rain. We receive about 65 inches on average. Use to be alot more. Most of the year is between 50 and 75 degrees. It seems most of the US is either extremely hot or cold......or both. We dont have much traffic. It does get busy during the summer but still the traffic is mild. We go to either Brookings or Coos Bay once or twice a month to shop. McKays, the grocery store in Gold Beach, is pretty competitive on prices so they do not try to take advantage of being one of the only grocery stores. I sit here on July29, 2023 overlooking the Rogue River and ocean and the temp is a pleasant 68 degrees. I count about 50 boats fishing in the Rogue. Jerry's Jet boat ride is awesome and something anyone should try. I dont like the Climate indicators on best places as they categorize best as between 70-80 degrees. To me the best temperatures are between 65-75 degrees. We get those ranges alot in the Spring and Summer. Just my 2 cents --some people like it hotter but I had enough hot days in my lifetime in California.
